Can I run my AC with my RV solar system?

Here are the 6 must-have products for your air-conditioned RV solar system...

1. YOUR BATTERIES: For AC use, we recommend at least 900ah of battery. More never hurts if your RV has the space. 4 x 460ah Epoch batteries would be 1840ah... That could run your AC for 24 straight hours, without solar panels!!

2. YOUR PANELS: For AC use, we recommend maxing out the roof. An AC unit can take 1500w of power by itself so you need a minimum of 2000w to offset that power use. We recommend as many additional portable ground panels as can surround your RV, just like the photo below!

3. YOUR INVERTER: You'll need a 3000w inverter at a minimum, for AC use because the AC needs 1500w so that leaves you a little leftover for smaller appliances. The math has to math!

4. YOUR AC EASY START: This device allows the inverter to start the AC without overloading the system. Without one, the high power surge to start the AC would overload your inverter, generator and/or shore power.

5. YOUR AUTO-GEN START: If your RV has an onboard generator, this device will automatically start your generator if the batteries get low, so you can recharge your batteries and continue running the AC.

6. YOUR MONITOR: It's important to be able to properly read the vital signs and power use of your AC so that you know how much time you have on battery power. With the system monitors we install, you can also start your generator remotely.
